artist's statement

The concept behind my work was discovered whilst driving to and from CIT.
The destruction of the Stromlo Forest suddenly crept up on me and it suddenly dawned on me there was this huge clearing along the main road.
From this, I decided to throw myself into unknown waters and learn more about the environment and what impacts us humans have on it. The contribution we make to the pollution of our lands, either unknowingly, or undeterred by our actions has created a norm amongst our communities.

catching up...

i ended up printing my photos on white garbage bags, at the ANU printing lab.
they turned up really well, and the colour really was really bold. however, the image quality was slightly reduced as the printer didnt quite agree with the medium of choice.

oil Emissions.....

Went to Sydney on the weekend. this is the start of my research on emissions. These factories are out in Botany Bay, Kurnell. I took as many photos as i could before the security guard told me to "f*** off". Next place is out in Wollongong to do similar photographs.
I also went to Syd to take photographs of this house in Bondi. Right in one of the most expensive streets in bondi residential, this house is inundated with rubbish, rats, waste, who knows what else.

Concept Ideas and Photos week 1&2

ive decided to focus my conceptual folio about environmental changes and the impacts that occur. i am going to survey and research a range of locations that have been constructed on, and deconstructed on. The emissions that pollute the air. and the tonnes and tonnes of rubbish that is thrown wherever we choose, and somehow end up not in the rubbish tip, but along the beaches, oceans and lakes.
I want to survey the area of the "affected area" and take portraits and statements of locals in the area.
The Greens Parliament has a huge control over developments and decisions, so i will contact them, and get their opinions on some issues going on in this country, in our state and even in our own backyard.
